We Talk Radio Show is created and hosted by a team of women and members of the AFAB community in the Media Centre in HMP & YOI Polmont. Featuring music, interviews, quizzes and segments, content for the shows is based on their own interests, perspectives and opinions. Women Talk is broadcast throughout the prison every fortnight.

Notes on the Process
Being a prisoner your voice isnae heard at all – if I’m honest with you… there will maybe be an odd officer you think hears you or sees you but most of the time you feel like you’re invisible. And all they see is a purple t’shirt and a number – so it doesn’t matter – if you say you’ve got a voice or nothing. You’re told when to go to bed – you’re told when to get up – when to get your toast – so – you’re told what to do. And it doesn’t matter what complaint you’ve got – you aren’t heard. So I feel like this – on this radio show we are heard. Women’s voices are heard. We Talk Participant
You don’t sit there and interrogate us. Asking us questions. You make us as comfy as we can be. Just being able to speak as part of a group and learning not to beat myself up. Like – as if I’m not enough- to talk on the radio… We Talk Participant
